Dry Valley Coons Health Warranty
Dry Valley Coon Warranty
Our kittens are guaranteed to be in good health and free of any signs of infection and any contagious or communicable diseases at time of adoption. We take pride in the fact that our relationship with you does not end when you take home a kitten from us. As I am a small Cattery and die-hard kitten lover, I’d like to believe nothing can ever go wrong with our kittens. However, certain things are never in our control. A kitten’s health is dependent on a lot of factors like genetics, exercise, food & nourishment and overall care. While I may not be able to guarantee that your kitten will never have a health problem, I do guarantee to do my best to ensure your new family member is a healthy one!
The buyer agrees to have the cat examined by a licensed veterinarian within 24 hours of purchase (excluding weekends/holidays). Once the cat/kitten has been examined, if there is an abnormal finding or concern, please notify Dry Valley Coons immediately (but no longer than 48 hours) and provide a written report from the licensed veterinarian. On receipt of written report, the Breeder shall work with the purchaser on a remedy for the situation.
Dry Valley Coons cannot be held responsible for the overall health of the cat beyond this 48 hour period. The buyer is responsible for all medical and shipping expenses associated with this cat/kitten IMMEDIATELY after the contract is signed.
VACCINES. When the kitten arrives at your home and it's time for the next vaccines, he/she will have been inoculated at least once with age appropriate vaccine. The Seller provides the first CORE vaccines, which are a lot for a kitten's system, OPTIONAL vaccines are per the Buyer and their vets discretion but death or injury as a result will not be covered under this contract. Any vaccine death or injury due to vaccines or seems within a timeframe of just receiving a vaccine will not be covered. All vaccines carry health risks, and this is not a result of my cattery or genetics, Buyer assumes all vaccine risks.
The kitten shall be kept strictly indoors. Purchaser shall not allow Kitten to roam outside unless Kitten is leashed and accompanied by a responsible adult.
As with any new kitten if you already cats we recommend to quarantine the new kitten for 30 days.
The Purchaser makes no guarantees as to the Kitten’s temperament. We pride ourselves on socializing our kittens, but we cannot predict how the Kitten will act after it leaves the familiar environment of our cattery and its litter mates. It is Purchaser’s responsibility to slowly transition Kitten to its new home. The Purchaser acknowledges that some kittens may take longer than others to adjust to their new surroundings. Purchaser acknowledges new kittens may have trouble settling in the new home for a few days. Low appetite, nervous and diarrhea can be side effects of stress from move and change of food and environment. These are things we do not cover or guarantee. Purchaser must notify their vet immediately if the kitten is not transitioning well into its new home so that they are made aware of any issues. A vet cannot help you with these concerns if they are not aware of them. Seller is not and will not be held liable or responsibility for these issues.
Seller warrants that Kitten was fully litter box trained when Kitten left Seller's premises. However, the new surroundings may confuse the Kitten and may result in an improper elimination. The Purchaser needs to ensure that Kitten knows where its new litter box is located, and Seller recommends that Purchaser use the same type of litter box and litter used at the Seller's premises, to avoid confusing the Kitten. Purchaser agrees that it will feed Kitten the same food that Kitten was eating at the Seller's premises, and any changes to Kitten's diet will be done gradually. Any sudden changes to the Kitten's diet may result in diarrhea and this could lead to dehydration and loss of kitten. ( Dry Valley Coons does not cover or warranty dehydration after kitten leaves our home)
There are no guarantees against FIP. It is the responsibility of the Purchaser to provide immediate veterinary care to any cat/kitten showing signs of illness or distress and failure to do so will render any guarantee null and void. All veterinary expenses and return shipping-related expenses are the responsibility of the Purchaser. This Guaranty does not cover the death of a kitten from FIPV, (Feline Infectious Peritonitis Virus), a mutated form of the Feline Coronavirus (FCoV) , if said kitten dies of FIPV it will not be replaced. No Exceptions! We have no control over this horrible virus... The Purchaser agrees never to vaccinate this Kitten against FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). The effectiveness of the vaccine has not been established and the vaccine can cause the disease. Failure to comply will void all health guarantees. This health guarantee does not cover coccidia or giardia outbreaks. When a kitten enters its new home, it can sometimes result in diarrhea/loose stools a few days after arrival. This is typically caused by the parasite. This is not a congenital problem and is not covered by our health guarantee. This cat/kitten is guaranteed against congenital defects inherited by the parents and HCM for the first 12 months of life.(Congenital Defects)
Multi-cat households: Seller’s guarantee only covers the health of the Kitten. If Purchaser has a multi-cat / multi-pet household, and your other pets come down with health issues after Kitten is introduced, Seller, is not responsible for any veterinary expenses for your other feline(s) and pets, as we are not responsible for their health. Similarly, if Kitten comes down with health issue(s) after its introduction to the multi-pet household, we will not be responsible for the Kitten’s health issues . The purchaser’s responsibility is to ensure that existing felines are up to date on all vaccinations and have been regularly checked by your veterinarian before introducing them to Kitten. It is the Purchaser’s responsibility to quarantine Kitten for fourteen (14-30) days of receiving the Kitten, if Kitten is going to a multi-pet household. Unless otherwise agreed to by the Seller, in writing, this provision of isolating the Kitten for at least 14-30 days is a strict requirement and Purchaser will void all health guarantees under this contract if the Kitten is not isolated for at least 14-30 days.
KITTEN RETURN POLICY. The buyer agrees that this cat will at no time be sold, leased, or given to any pet shop, animal dealer, animal research facility, animal shelter, rescue or to anyone who has ever been convicted of neglect of or cruelty to an animal, nor shall it be abandoned. It is the intention of the Seller that the Buyer be a permanent placement. If at any time the Buyer becomes unable to care for the kitten, Seller is given the right of first refusal. If the Seller does not receive the kitten, it is the responsibility of the Buyer to place the kitten in a home that meets the same conditions as stated in this contract. This contract is NOT transferable. There is no refund for any kitten if the Buyer can't keep said kitten by the Seller (no returns or a refund), including, if the Seller is able to take the kitten back. This guarantee does not include the sold kitten having minor illnesses and health issues such as colds, allergies, ringworm, ear mites, internal or external parasites. We can't guarantee our kittens against illness or opportunistic parasites brought on by stress such as moving (from our house to yours.) However, Breeder will disclose any known illnesses or health issues prior to pick-up or delivery from Buyer to Seller.
The seller certifies that the kitten you purchase is in sound health at the time of sale to the best of my knowledge, and has been given at least one vaccinations and worming that has been given provided to the buyer(s). I do my best to provide the new owner with a healthy kitten. The buyer will become responsible for further vaccination, boosters and worming. If this kitten becomes sick or has a genetic default, the following stipulations must be adhered to in order for a replacement to be made. Official report from a licensed vet stating, without a doubt, the kitten has a genetic defect that would hinder the kitten, must be sent to me along with a phone number of the vet’s office.
If the kitten should die, an autopsy must be done by a licensed vet stating the cause of death. The documentation must be forwarded to me before a determination will be made. The seller reserves the right to confirm the diagnosis with a vet of my choice. The seller will not be responsible for any expense you may incur, including return shipping and vet expenses.
This warranty applies only to the original buyer. Parasites/ coccodia, colds, allergies, ringworm, ear mites, internal or external parasites are not covered under warranty as a kitten can pick these up over night in travel. We also do not cover the drop of testicles or whether or not they decend or if they have two testicles. When purchasing a cat for breeding we are not liable for how your King or Queen will perform, that is beyond our control. We will not be responsible for how your cat will breed or perform in any way. Your kitten will be up to date on worming and should be wormed regularly as recommended by your vet.
Hernias, umbilical or inguinal are occasionally present in kittens. Most will be outgrown. If not they can be easily repaired at time of Spaying/Neutering is highly recommended if you are not planning on breeding.
I have raised this kitten from sound parents and it is your responsibility to take good care of him/her to ensure long healthy life. You play an important role in helping your kitten grow into a healthy adult.
If you are not able to keep this kitten in the future and wish to return it to the seller, you may do so along with the paperwork provided by their seller at time of purchase. You WILL NOT receive a refund for this kitten.
If this contract is breached in any way, Purchaser will owe the seller a fee of $4,000.00US for breach of contract to the Seller, Wesley Brady over and above the original price each and every time the contract is breached. Once the contract is breached, the Purchaser is to surrender the cat/kitten back to the Seller without refund and at the Purchaser's expense with a signed Transfer of Ownership. Purchaser agrees that if any legal action needs to be taken that all legal fees will be Purchaser's responsibility for both parties and it will be held in the seller's current state and county of residence. Disputes will be settled between Seller and Purchaser only and privately and will not be aired in a public forum in any matter including Yahoo Group lists, FaceBook, Instagram, Google, or any other media or TICA registry.. Both parties agree that any disputes/issues related to the Kitten and this contractual relationship are private matters between the Seller and the Purchaser. Any issues and disputes must be resolved privately. Issues (including, but not limited to the Kitten’s health issues, behavior issues, and contractual issues) shall not be aired in a public and/or online forum including, but not limited to, any Yahoo Groups and Facebook ,any social media under circumstances unless the prior written consent of the other party has been obtained. Any violation of this clause shall result in agreed-upon damages of $10,000.00 payable by the party publicizing the alleged dispute/issue. The buyer is responsible for all medical and shipping expenses associated with this cat/kitten IMMEDIATELY after the contract is signed.
GOVERNING LAW This Agreement shall be final and binding upon the Purchaser and Seller and shall be governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee. Parties shall submit all their disputes arising out of or in connection with this Agreement to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Putnam County Tennessee. In the event of a dispute between the parties, the prevailing party shall be entitled to his/her attorney’s fees and all costs and expenses associated with the dispute. At no point will Wes Brady or Dry Valley Coons be responsible for any fees due to this matter. Purchaser will be held responsible for all fees due to this matter.
The buyer agrees to have the kitten altered at 6 months or later (up to one year old). NO KITTEN SHOULD BE ALTERED BEFORE 6 MONTHS OF AGE.
Buyer agrees that if the kitten is not altered between 6 months – 1 year, seller has the right to take possession of the cat and place it back in the
Dry Valley Coon cattery with no payment to the buyer. If the buyer is found to be using the said cat as a breeder, a fine of $4000 is due the seller along
with the return of the cat at buyer’s sole expense. The Seller agrees to provide the buyer with a T.I.C.A registration for the kitten after he/she is altered between 6 months and 1 year of age and written certification from a licensed vet is sent to the seller. This certification must also provide the breed of cat, as well as the name, address, and phone number of the vet for verification of altering.
SELLER RECOMMENDATIONS The kitten should be isolated from other cats for at least 14-30 days to acclimate to its new surroundings and avoid stress related illnesses. Any changes to the kitten’s diet the first six months should be avoided as changes may result in episodes of diarrhea and stress. The kitten should be given frequent and kind human attention with a generous amount of play and exercise. The kitten should not be caged with the exception of short-term confinement if necessary—and with a litter box, food, and water provided. Provide plenty of water always, Maine Coon's drink and need a lot of water or can cause extreme dehydration and could result in death and therefore this would not be covered under our warranty .
Kitten is to be fed a healthy diet and maintain a healthy weight through its life. New Kitten/Cats often show physical signs of stress within the first two
weeks ( this is not covered under warranty) in a new home including but not limited to: sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, diarrhea, constipation, or hair loss. If any of these symptoms persist for longer than 72 hours after undivided attention has been given, please seek a licensed veterinarian care for peace of mind. Kitten/Cats often hide in their new homes for the first 72 hours. Please keep water, food, and a litter box nearby until your kitten acclimates. The New Kitten/Cat should be kept in a smaller area with limited and supervised exploration of the home for the first week. Unlike humans, cats find small spaces comforting when faced with new situations. We have found that keeping the kitten/cat in the bedroom with you, or in the
bathroom next to your bedroom, has offered the most comfort in the first weeks. Keep the kitten’s carrier, food, water and litter in this smaller space
until your cat/kitten has acclimated to your environment.
I, the seller, do hereby agree to offer a 1 year genetic warranty on this kitten until kitten becomes 1 year old. As stated in the conditions above, all sales are final.
